My CVS Shopping Trip for the Weekly Ad of 9/4/2011 ~ The Challenge Begins (Saved 91%)

So I jumped back in this week after a four week CVS Shopping sabbatical.   It was a great week to begin on my Beginner's $50 CVS Gift Card Challenge.  As I explained in an earlier post, I got a new CVS extra care card to work with so I can truly show what a new CVS shopper can save when just starting out.  So I was able to spend under $3 for over $30 worth of  products.

After getting my card I registered it with my email address so I was able to receive a $4 off $20 total purchase coupon for signing up to begin my shopping with.  Since there were great coupons printing last week at the

CVS Clearance Deals Found the Week of 9/4

At my store, there were a number of items on clearance. The bulk of the summer items were marked down to 90% off including Doggers shoes.

I found Baby Orajel SmartDose Teething Gel 75% off.

A lot of different kinds of film were marked down to 50% off.

A couple of kinds of Blade and Just the Basics body wash were 50% off as was Suave tropical coconut.

Russell Stover Sugar free 3 flavor mix bags were 25% off as were Trident White Jumbo Pack.

In the tooth care aisle Efferdent Plus Mint, Polident overnight, and Fixodent Cleanser Whitening were all 75% off.

In the hair accessory aisle I found the CVS 2 oz Travel Jar 50% off. Vidal Sassoon Sure Grip Rollers, various Conair and Scunnci clips and

$1/1 Colgate Optic White Printable Coupon (maybe CVS) ~ Extra Buck Deal 9/4 and 9/11

Tosha, a Simply CVS reader, let me know there is a $1/1 Colgate Optic White Printable Coupon at CVS.com.  Go to the home page and click on the scrolling ads--I found it under #4 Tosha found it under #5.  This week it is pay $3.49 get $1.50, next week it is pay $3.99 get $1.50 limit 2.  I am not sure if this a CVS coupon--it does not say Manufacturer coupon, nor does it say how the store is to get redeemed, it says use at CVS, but also the UPC starts with a 5 which is usually a manufacturer coupon.  (that was a lot of help, I know).

CVS Scanner Coupons Printing the Week of 9/4/2011

Here are the weekly CVS scanner coupons printing the week of 9/4. Since I have a brand new card I only received the two that every one will receive so I went to find what others are reporting.  They have various expiration dates so be sure and look at each one.  If you got anything different please leave a comment letting others know.  It helps to know what you might be getting.


I received these first two as should everyone else and they should print each day this week.  EDIT:  The free candy bar is not printing each day.  They may print every other day as they often do, or they may not.

Physician's Formula CVS Extra Buck Deal Limit Increased Week of 9/4

The Physician's Formula extra buck deal limit has been raised from one to two per card.  Sometimes the limits change from the time the ad is printed and are more than advertised.  It must be checked out separately to earn the bucks.  After your first purchase the bottom of your receipt should not show limit reached. CVS Dollar or Under Deals for the Weekly Ad of 9/4/2011 ~ Some Freebies

Here are the CVS deals for a dollar or under for the weekly ad of 9/4.  There are lots of ways to save money while shopping at CVS even without coupons or extra bucks. Here is a list of sale items for $1 or under -- some have coupons and extra bucks to make them $1 or under, but many are on sale for that price.

CVS Household Deals with Coupon Match-ups for the Weekly Ad of 9/4/2011

Below are the household items for the CVS ad from the week of 4/24 with the coupons I could find as of today.  If you see a weekly CVS deal you want to stock up on and wish for more coupons you can order them from a clipping service and usually receive them within 3 to 4 days depending on the area of the country.  But even without Sunday inserts there are often printable coupons available.  Coupons.com, SmartSource, Coupon Network and Redplum  have great printables for household, grocery and health & beauty items that are updated off and on throughout the month.

$1/1 Orbit CVS Scanner Coupon ~ Great for Weekly Ad of 9/4

Hailey, a Simply CVS reader and fan on Simply CVS Facebook, reminded us to save our $1/1 Orbit Singles CVS coupons that are printing the week of 8/28 for next week when they will be buy one get one free. There is also a $.50/2 coupon in the Smartsource insert from 7/31.  With the new coupon policy on B1G1 free sales I am still confused if we can use this one on just two or not.  I just checked on We Use Coupons (who are also strict about proper coupon usage) and they are saying you can use the $1/1 and the $.50/2 and it will make two packs free--so the $.50/2 must be fine with the B1G1 sale.

I had Sarah scan my card when she went so I could get this coupon and the Starburst one for starting back next week--these will be great for Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes.

Small Moneymaker at CVS on Carefree Week of 9/4 ~ Print Your Coupon Now

The week of 9/4 there is a CVS extra buck deal on Carefree:  $1 ECB wyb Carefree Body Shape pantiliners 20-22 ct $1.00 Limit 1.  There was a coupon for $.50 in the 8/21 SmartSource. But if you don't have access to that there is a $.50/1 printable currently available.  You have to sign up to print it.  These may go very quickly so get it now if you will need it.

CVS Extra Buck Deals for the Weekly Ad of 9/4/2011 with Coupon Match-ups

Below is a list of extra buck deals for the upcoming CVS weekly ad of 9/4 and the current coupons available (more printables may come out the first of the month and I will add them then). Remember to read all of the fine print on the coupons to be sure they match the product in the deal (I don't have all of them to look at and there are so many different types and sizes of one product now it can be confusing).  And if you wish you had more of a certain coupon, you can always order some from a coupon clipping service.

Free Skintimate Moisturizing Cream Shave @ CVS Week of 9/4 with Printable & Insert Coupons

Earlier today a Simply CVS reader, Tosha, shared that she had found a $1/1 Skintimate Moisturizing Cream Shave CVS printable coupon.  There is also a $1/1 in the 7/24 SmartSource that can be pared with this coupon.  Amit19 of We Use Coupons is reporting this will be on sale the week of 9/4 for $1.99 making it free when you use these two coupons.  So print them  now before they are gone.  I am excited as this is my first week I will be back CVS shopping :-).
UPDATE:  Here is $.75/1 Printable I found, too--it says Shave Gel so I am not exactly sure it will match.
